Shri Ram Nandan Sharma was administered the oath of office of Member, Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission on 10.03.2011 by the Hon’ble Governor of Bihar. He was earlier working as Electricity Ombudsmen in the Commission. Prior to that he was assisting the Commission in framing of Regulations, determination of ARR & Tariff, analysis of various reports, etc. He is Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). 

Shri Sharma holds Electrical Engineering degree from Patna University and retired as Chief Engineer, Bihar State Electricity Board. He has a working experience of more than 36 years in the power Sector in Generation, Transmission & Distribution including construction of 132 KV/ 33 KV Grid Substation and erection of 220KV and 132KV transmission line network in the State. He has also worked as Superintending Engineer/ Inter- state, dealing with commercial and financial aspects of energy exchange with other neighbouring states/ region. As Superintending Engineer/CLD (Central Load Dispatch) he was responsible for system control of 220 KV and 132 Transmission lines and grid stations of the State its coordination with inter state transmission system and testing of equipments of grid sub-stations. A lot of improvement work was done under his supervision to remove the various operational constrains of transmission system in the State.
